Latin: “leader of life”
We named it in Latin because the problem is ancient. Long before software, the leaders who mattered were the ones who could turn intention into action, who said the thing, then did the thing. Vitae Dux is built for exactly that kind of person: the one who leads their work, their team, and their life on purpose. Our promise is in our tagline: Where Accountability Meets Leaders.
Why I built it
I have worked in IT for more than ten years. I got my start in 2014 through Year Up, a one-year program of college-level training and a corporate internship. It placed me in a support role at a large hospital system in Chicago.
Over five years at the hospital I went from fixing computers to running projects. I led a team of nine consultants and interns through Windows upgrades on more than 8,000 desktops. Each week I gave status updates on where every piece of the work stood and which goals were at risk.
In 2019 I moved to a global investment firm, where I lead end user support. I supervise about twenty people and hand out the work each week. Every month I check our tickets against the service targets the business expects, and I support the firm’s senior leaders.
In both environments, the work that slipped had something in common. It had been handed from one person to another, and nobody was sure who owned it after the handoff. A lot of my time went to finding the owner and getting back on course.
What finally moved the work was one person agreeing to own it, where everyone could see it. I built Vitae Dux so that is the default from day one.
Tasks roll up into projects, and projects roll up into goals. Each one carries one owner's name. Reminders get more frequent when work falls behind pace. Blockers are logged where the whole team can see them. The Accountability Score updates as work moves, and on Pro and Exceptional it shows how the team’s score changed over the past week.
What I stand for

Integrity
The seat math is published on the pricing page, down to what a 10-person team pays each month. You can cancel online in the same place you subscribed. Owners and admins can export the whole workspace anytime.
Leadership
Vitae Dux is built for the person who answers for outcomes. Reminders get more frequent when work falls behind pace, so the leader spends less time asking for updates.
Excellence
Security is on from day one. Two-factor sign-in is required for every account, with no skip and no grace period, and row-level security in the database keeps each team's data inside its own workspace.

A note from me
Welcome, and thanks for stopping by.
You probably know this feeling. You set a goal in January, and everyone’s on board. By March, the work is spread across chat threads and spreadsheets, and somebody says, “I thought you had it.” I’ve watched that happen more times than I can count.
When it happens, the leader usually ends up doing the chasing. You ask for updates and send the reminders, and you carry the whole thing around in your head. I did that for years, and it wears you out.
So I built Vitae Dux to carry that load. Every task belongs to a project, every project belongs to a goal, and each one has one person’s name on it. If something starts falling behind, the reminders pick up. If someone gets stuck, the whole team can see it. And the Accountability Score gives everyone the same honest picture of how things are going.
I’ve put a lot of care into every detail, and I took security seriously from the start. If you’re trusting it with your team’s commitments, it should earn that.
