About Vitae Dux

The world doesn’t need another task app.
It needs more follow-through.

Where Accountability Meets Leaders

Vitae Dux exists for one reason: to close the gap between what leaders commit to and what their teams actually deliver. Everything we build serves that mission. Nothing else makes it in.

Why we exist

Built out of frustration with the status chase

Every leader knows the feeling. The goal was set in January. The team agreed. Everyone nodded. And by March, the work has quietly scattered into chat threads, forgotten spreadsheets, and “I thought you had it.”

The tools weren't the problem. There are thousands of them. The problem is that almost all of them were built to record work, not to make anyone answer for it. A list doesn't care if it's ignored. A board doesn't notice when a goal goes stale. So the leader becomes the accountability system, chasing status, repeating reminders, carrying the whole follow-through burden in their head.

We believe accountability is a structure, not a personality trait, so we built the structure.

Vitae Dux was built as that structure. Every task ladders to a project; every project ladders to a goal; every item carries one owner's name, never a vague committee. Reminders escalate on their own when work drifts off pace. Blockers are logged in the open. And a weekly Accountability Score grades the team's follow-through with a number, not a hunch: the conversation nobody can dodge.

We built it the way the smallest details deserve: obsessively. Thousands of refinements, shipped continuously, with security designed in from the first line of code, because a tool that asks for your team's commitments has to be worthy of holding them.

Vitae Dux
Latin: “leader of life”

We named it in Latin because the problem is ancient. Long before software, the leaders who mattered were the ones who could turn intention into action, who said the thing, then did the thing. Vitae Dux is built for exactly that kind of person: the one who leads their work, their team, and their life on purpose. Our promise is in our tagline: Where Accountability Meets Leaders.

What we stand for

Four words. They’re on our crest for a reason.

These aren't poster values. They're the standard we hold the product, and ourselves, to every single build.

I

Accountability

Every piece of work has one name on it. Every goal gets a grade. We build the product that makes ownership visible, and we run our own company inside it, holding ourselves to the same score.

II

Integrity

Honest pricing with the seat math published. Plain-language terms. No dark patterns, no hostage data, no fake countdown timers. If we wouldn't accept it as customers, we don't ship it.

III

Leadership

We build for the person who answers for outcomes. Every feature is tested against one question: does this help a leader commit, execute, and finish? If not, it doesn't belong here.

IV

Excellence

Security at the database layer, two-factor required to access every workspace, and details polished past the point most companies stop. Small team, exceptional standards. That's the trade we chose.

How we’re different

Most tools track work. Ours makes it finish.

Accountability is the product, not a feature

Project tools bolt on a dashboard and call it accountability. We did the opposite: we started with the Accountability Score, the ownership model, and the escalating reminder engine, then built the workspace around them. Follow-through isn't a report here. It's the architecture.

Security most startups postpone, we shipped first

Row-level security enforced at the database, two-factor authentication (an authenticator app / TOTP) required to access your workspace (not optional, not an upsell), strict isolation between organizations, and type-to-confirm guards on every destructive action. New accounts can defer setup a limited number of times during a short enrollment grace, but the workspace stays locked until 2FA is enabled. We pressure-test our own walls and publish a status page.

Your data behaves like yours

One-click export of your entire workspace, anytime, in formats you can open anywhere. Delete your account and we email you a complete backup first, automatically. We earn renewals with the product, never with lock-in.

We sell what's real

No invented AI buzzwords, no “coming soon” sold as today. The features on our pricing page exist, work, and ship improvements weekly. When something is on the roadmap, we say so plainly. Integrity costs us nothing and earns everything.

Our commitments to you

Hold us accountable. We insist.

It would be strange to sell accountability and not accept it. So here it is, in writing.

1

Your data is yours: exportable and deletable, always

Export everything at any time. When you delete, we permanently erase your workspace content, with an automatic backup emailed to you first, so you never lose your history. We keep only a minimal deletion record (your account email, name, workspace, and role, plus the deletion date) for fraud-prevention, legal, and audit purposes, and payment invoices are retained by our payment processor as required by law.

2

Canceling is as easy as signing up

Online, in your billing settings, in the same place you subscribed. No phone call, no retention maze, no guilt screens.

3

Security stays mandatory, not premium

Two-factor authentication is required to access every workspace, including free ones, and database-level isolation protects your data. We will never sell basic safety as an add-on.

4

A human reads every message

Email [email protected] and a person, not a bot maze, reads it and answers. Accessibility requests get a response within three business days.

5

We ship, relentlessly
